Balenciaga has added three unisex fragrances to its Les Extraits collection: Amber Crush, Pink Oud, and Vanilla XXL. Each fragrance is presented in Extrait de Parfum concentration and housed in refillable flacons inspired by Cristóbal Balenciaga’s original couture-era bottles. The trio launched exclusively at Selfridges earlier this month.
Amber Crush Blends Plum, Sandalwood, and Incense
Amber Crush centres on a plum accord, layered with sandalwood and warm, resinous incense. Precious spices round out the composition, building toward what Balenciaga calls a deep and enveloping trail. The house describes the fragrance as built on the tension between ancestral perfumery ingredients and a magnifying, time-suspending take on amber.
Plum has emerged as a defined fragrance note for 2026. Valentino’s Born in Roma Purple Melancholia, launched this year, pairs plum with osmanthus and Madagascar vanilla in a fruity chypre register. Calvin Klein’s longstanding fragrance Obsession also echoes Amber Crush’s incense-amber combination.
Pink Oud Pairs Damask Rose With Assafi Oud
Damask rose and rare Assafi oud accord make up Balenciaga’s Pink Oud fragrance. The house frames the fragrance as an encounter between voluptuous rose and raw oud. The rose lends its floral richness and sensuality. The oud accord gives it deep, vibrant, woody facets. Balenciaga calls Pink Oud a floral ode to fashion.
Ambre Levant, from Louis Vuitton, which came out in early 2026, similarly builds on an amber-oud foundation brightened with mandarins.
Vanilla XXL Brings Dark Vanilla, Musk, and Cinnamon Together
Vanilla XXL takes its name from the oversized volumes associated with Balenciaga Couture. The intense black vanilla elixir wrapped in musk and cinnamon translates that visual into a scent. Notes of liquor add a boozy warmth to the composition.
Vanilla has shifted tone across the year’s fragrance releases, appearing darker and pairing more frequently with tonka, soft amber, sandalwood, and musk.
All three fragrances are priced at £285 for a refillable 100 ml bottle, with a 200 ml refill available at £230. A discovery set offers Amber Crush, Pink Oud, and Vanilla XXL 10 ml miniatures at £135.
Balenciaga’s Return to Haute Parfumerie
The launch of the New Les Extraits Collection builds on Balenciaga’s fragrance relaunch. The house relaunched the division in 2025 under Kering Beauté with a ten-fragrance Haute Parfumerie collection. It was headlined by a revival of Le Dix, Cristóbal Balenciaga’s original 1947 perfume. It also included nine new fragrances: 100%, Cristóbal, Extra, Getaria, Incense Perfumum, Muscara, No Comment, To Be Confirmed, and Twenty Four Seven.
Le Dix centres on iris absolute and violet leaf. The nine companion scents range from Getaria’s aquatic profile inspired by Cristóbal Balenciaga’s Basque birthplace to Twenty Four Seven’s vanilla-and-musk composition.
L'Oréal Takes Over Balenciaga’s Fragrance and Beauty Business
Balenciaga’s fragrance division, formerly Kering Beauté, is now owned by L’Oréal. The company completed the acquisition of Kering Beauté, including the House of Creed, in March 2026. The deal was worth approximately €4 billion. As part of the same agreement, L’Oréal also signed fifty-year exclusive licences to create, develop, and distribute fragrance and beauty products for Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta.
Fragrance Releases: Memo Paris, Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo, and Max Mara
Memo Paris’ Darling Point is a new addition to the brand’s Graines Vagabondes collection. Available as a 75 ml Eau de Parfum, the fragrance centres on Cashmeran, sandalwood, and amyris. The ylang-ylang essence and Madagascan vanilla absolute give the fragrance a coastal, Mediterranean-inspired composition.
Another fragrance launch is Calvin Klein’s Euphoria Signature Elixirs, joining the existing Euphoria Elixirs line. It currently includes Bold, Magnetic, and Solar Elixirs, released earlier in 2026. The fragrance is infused with a praline top note, orchid heart, and vanilla-and-patchouli base, positioned as a chypre-vanilla take at 28% concentration. Euphoria Signature Elixirs is available in 50 ml and 100 ml Parfum Intense.
Jimmy Choo launched I Want Choo Midnight, developed by perfumer Christophe Raynaud. Blackberry, pink peppercorn, and blackcurrant bud open into a heart of orchid. Crystalised rose settles into cedarwood, with additional notes of violet leaf, benzoin, and ambrox adding to the charm.
A woody floral built on tuberose and vanilla. That’s Max Mara’s contribution to the floral and vanilla trend. Le Parfum also has an abundance of woods, sandalwood, and cedar. It’s now available at Ulta in 10 ml, 35 ml, 50 ml, and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, priced from $36 to $180.
