Jonathan Anderson and Nina Christen, Dior’s creative director and shoe design director, showed their Spring 2027 footwear in Paris on 29 September, at the Bassin de l’Octogone in the Tuileries gardens. Models walked a white catwalk built over the octagonal basin, one year after Anderson’s womenswear debut at the house, and the shoes carried forward the nature-inspired details of earlier styles such as the viral fall 2026 sculptural lily-pad heels and the Flora sandals, whose hand-painted metal flower was embellished with crystals.
Anderson teased two styles on social media before the show, a floral pump and a T-strap sandal, and both made it down the runway.
Dior Spring 2027 Shoes Debut at Paris Fashion Week
The show fell on the second day of Paris Fashion Week, which runs from 28 September to 6 October and carries 68 runway shows and 33 presentations. Julie Kegels, the 2026 LVMH Prize winner, opened the week on Monday. Dior’s 2:30 p.m. slot on Tuesday was followed that evening by Maison Margiela and Saint Laurent. Paris is the last stop of fashion month after New York, London and Milan, and Anderson’s collection was his third mainline womenswear outing as Dior’s creative director.
Floral Pumps Feature Glossy Prints and Cutouts
The floral pump has a glossy printed finish and an open toe, with crisscrossing straps and a diamond cutout across the foot. Dior also showed the same silhouette without the flowers, letting the straps and the cutout define the shape.
Cap-Toe Shoes Come in Snakeskin and Suede
The collection plays with the cap-toe trend in several ways. The kitten-heel slingback pumps come in black and white, each with a pointed toe, a narrow snakeskin cap-toe and a small bow. That leather bow matches the one on the Dior Bow Heeled Slingback Sandal, a design that appeared at Anderson’s first Dior show.
Rosalia attended the show in an all-black dress and matching satin sandals, then changed into a soft pink floral outfit and one of the slingbacks from the runway. She wore a white shoe with a triangle-shaped snakeskin cap-toe, a wide slingback strap around the back of the foot, and a bow at the vamp. The cone-shaped kitten heel on that pair measures about an inch.
Suede took the cap-toe in another direction, in olive green and brown versions for a more outdoorsy look. Their cap-toes are black and slanted, and the vamps sit high above lug soles.
Dior Sandals: Zippers, Thong Styles, and Gold T-Straps
Pumps with white linear detailing appeared beside sandals with zippers, and the thong sandals came in several versions. One heeled slingback thong layers fabric on a single strap. A second has a thick snakeskin strap and a bow.
Among the T-straps, one prominent pair is decorated with jewellery-like details. The other carries a vertical strap of gold letters that spells out Dior down the foot.
The shoes belonged to a collection heavy on stripes and houndstooth, with plaid close behind. Intricate 3D floral garments appeared alongside high-shine metallic reptilian trousers, and flowing fabrics ran through the show.
Waterfall skirts and jackets assembled from hundreds of hand-dyed petals gave the florals a garment-scale form. Sheer feathered skirts and dresses with lace panels sat next to them, and Modern Diplomacy noted that stripes and checks were mixed together while some pieces carried impressionist flower prints.
The collection ran to more than 65 looks, with houndstooth in wispy dusters and cropped jackets. A striped button-down shirt was reworked with subtle pleats in a bell-like shape, and other striped shirts were worn loose over fluid floral skirts. Elsewhere, shawl-collared bed jackets lined with shearling were worn with python-effect metallic pants. A key shape of the season was an updated corolla skirt that set a stiffer pleated peplum over a gauzy underlayer.
One pale pink sleeveless dress began with a finely worked bodice and opened into translucent panels around the knees, and another in soft yellow was built from irregular layers that seemed to separate in the breeze. Lace, silk mousseline and organza gave the volume without weight.
The show was staged among a cluster of camphor trees in mist, and Anderson has said the process began with the traditional Chinese practice of rolling wénwán walnuts. He has lightened his hand considerably since his womenswear debut a year earlier, which Anderson credited to an intent to remove the heaviness of heritage from the brand.
Anderson compared the way the trees, water and smoke blurred together to a Gerhard Richter painting. He also spoke about refining ideas over time and establishing a new vocabulary season after season.
Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027
Chloé shows on 1 October, and Loewe and Givenchy follow on Friday, 2 October. Drew Henry’s Courrèges debut and Kai Nesselrath‘s first collection at Carven are the two designer debuts on the calendar, and Valentino and Maison Margiela are back on the official schedule. Chanel presents on Monday, 5 October, with a film of the show released an hour later, and Louis Vuitton closes both Paris Fashion Week and the wider fashion month on Tuesday.
