Blundstone has reissued its Heritage Series of premium Chelsea boots for fall 2026, the second time the brand has revisited the line since it first launched in 2020 to mark 150 years in business.

The company was founded in 1870 by John Blundstone in Hobart, Tasmania. The new release lands as Blundstone marks over 155 years in business, and the brand is calling it the most sophisticated dress boot it has ever produced.

The range includes four styles, numbered #156 through #159, built from premium full-grain leather in aniline or nubuck finishes. Colourways span black and brown aniline leather alongside newer chestnut aniline and chocolate nubuck options, available in men’s and women’s sizing. Each pair retails at $395 through Blundstone’s own site.

Every pair passes through 72 production steps and 34 pairs of hands before it reaches a customer, a level of manual labour Blundstone doesn’t apply to its standard Chelsea range. The boots use Goodyear welt construction, so the sole can be removed and replaced rather than discarded once worn through. Removable Ortholite foam footbeds sit over cork filler inside, which softens and reshapes around the wearer’s foot with use. Blundstone maintains a dedicated resoling and repair guide on its own website, covering how customers can extend the life of boots built with this construction once the original sole eventually wears down.

The Heritage Series sits apart from Blundstone’s mainline Chelsea boots, led by the pull-on, elastic-sided #500. The #500, first produced in the 1960s, has become the boot most closely associated with the Blundstone name. Blundstone itself was founded in 1870 in Hobart, Tasmania, and has been owned by the Cuthbertson family since 1932.

Blundstone Collaborations: Aerocork, Filson and Comme des Garçons

In March, the brand introduced the Aerocork Chelsea, available in three colourways named Texas Sand, Deepest Brown and Grey, priced at $215. The style added a cork midsole to the familiar pull-up shape for a custom-moulded fit, alongside a matching slip-on clog and the brand’s first-ever sandal, both built on the same lightweight TPU outsole.

In October 2025, the brand partnered with Filson on a three-style Chelsea capsule, styles #2534, #2535 and #2536, priced at $239.95 per pair, built around a new Avalon Gecko TPU outsole and featuring premium water-resistant leathers. That collaboration marked the first time another brand’s name appeared on Blundstone’s leather pull tabs, embossed with Blundstone on the back tab and Filson on the front.

Earlier that same year, Blundstone worked with Comme des Garçons Homme, with designer Junya Watanabe drawing on Blundstone’s All-Terrain series, originally designed for culinary professionals, to create an exclusive clog limited to 500 pairs.

Blundstone x Pop Trading Company Chelsea Boots Add a Skatewear Edge

Most recently, Blundstone unveiled its first collaborative shoe collection with Pop Trading Company, an Amsterdam-based streetwear label. The collection centres on three limited-edition reinterpretations of the Chelsea boot, distinguished by different leather qualities, finishes and details. Each pair uses premium hair-on cowhide, meaning no two boots are identical, and the project reportedly took more than three years to develop.

Two of the colourways released so far are Glazed Ginger, a patinated brown leather with a hair-on leather heel panel, and Double Black, built entirely from black pony-hair leather. Both retain Blundstone’s usual side elastics and pull tab detailing, alongside a TPU outsole and an EVA insole with XRD cushioning technology for everyday wear despite the limited-edition positioning. Retailers selling the collaboration have limited purchases to one pair per customer.

Pop Trading Company was founded in Amsterdam in 2013 by Peter Kolks and Ric van Rest, initially distributing skate labels before launching its own menswear line in 2016. That same year, the brand became the first skatewear label to run its own showroom at Paris Fashion Week. It has since collaborated with Burberry, translating the house’s check pattern onto shirting and bucket hats in 2022, and worked with Adidas, Paul Smith and Dickies the following year.

Chelsea Boots Continue to Gain Fashion Attention

The Chelsea boot has had steady visibility in fashion coverage this year independent of any single release. Esquire and InsideHook have both recently written about actor Jacob Elordi’s consistent preference for Blundstone’s Chelsea boots.

Speaking at the brand’s 150th anniversary in 2020, Blundstone chief executive Steve Gunn said there are only a handful of brands that have existed for 150 years and an even smaller number that remain family-owned.

Availability for the Heritage Series is currently available on Blundstone’s website in the four listed styles and sizes at $395 per pair. No confirmation has been given yet on how widely the range will be available to retailers or stockists outside that direct channel.
