The Seoul Metropolitan Government has confirmed that the 2027 Spring/Summer season of Seoul Fashion Week will run from 1 to 6 September, marking the first time Lotte World Tower has joined the event as a co-host venue alongside Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The dual-venue format marks the 26th edition, showcasing collections by Korean designers.

DDP will continue to anchor the event’s commercial and editorial core, hosting 17 designer runway shows, eight presentations, and a trade show with 97 participating brands to connect Korean labels with international buyers.

Lotte World Tower is playing a different role in retail, entertainment, and public engagement, said SMG. The season also broadens the event’s lineup by bringing together established designer labels and contemporary brands aimed at younger consumers.

Established names anchor the DDP lineup, including Lie Sang Bong and LIE, both longstanding fixtures of the Seoul fashion calendar. Caruso, DOUCAN, HOLYNUMBER7, Dunst, General Idea, EBM, and Mahagrid will also be part of the event. The opening runway goes to KIMHĒKIM, which will mark its own tenth anniversary with a dedicated collection. A lifestyle zone at DDP will also feature Korean fashion, beauty, food, and wellness brands.

Lotte World Tower, by contrast, hosts the consumer-facing programme. Co-hosted with Lotte Department Store, the Jamsil schedule runs September 3 to 6 across the World Park lawn plaza, with runway shows alongside shopping activations, pop-ups and K-culture programming. Lotte is also running a parallel “Lotte Fashion Week” marketing campaign across its department stores, outlets and malls nationwide, offering shoppers purchase incentives tied to the event.

Attendees at Lotte World Tower will be able to purchase selected runway looks in real time via QR codes. BMW will operate electric shuttles ferrying buyers and international media between DDP and Lotte World Tower throughout the week. Major runway shows will also be livestreamed globally via the official Seoul Fashion Week YouTube channel.

Cho Hye-jung, director of creative industries at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said the season is designed to connect “the industry heritage built at DDP with the public appeal of Lotte World Tower.”

Complementing the Jamsil programme is a collaboration with K-pop group NCT for the group’s tenth anniversary. Running September 4 to 6 at Lotte World Tower, the tie-in includes an exhibition of stage outfits worn by NCT and its subunits, including NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT Wish.

At a runway show on September 6, models will wear the group’s stage costumes down the catwalk to its music, and a charity bazaar selling stage outfits and members’ personal items, with proceeds directed toward causes supporting women, youth and culture.

The dual-venue format follows two editions held entirely at DDP. The 2026 S/S season, held in September 2025, marked the event’s 25th anniversary and featured 27 Korean designer brands across 18 runway shows and 9 presentations at landmarks, including Deoksugung-gil, Hongje Yuyeon and Heungcheonsa Temple, alongside the debut of Berlin Showroom, staged at the MCM showroom in Gangnam, which brought 12 German brands to Seoul for the first time.

The 2026 F/W season, held in February 2026, consolidated the event as a single-site programme at DDP, opening with brand MUNN, with 24 brands presenting 15 runway shows and 9 presentations. The trade show ran from February 5 to 7 at DDP Design Lab, featuring individual brand booths, a Seoul Fashion Hub pavilion for SMG-supported labels, and three multi-brand showrooms, alongside the Seoul Fashion Forum, held on February 3 at DDP Art Hall 2 for its second edition, under the theme “The Next Chapter of K-Fashion: Deep Dive & Inspiring.

Showroom tours were also organised in Seongsu, Hannam and Gangnam to spotlight brands popular among millennial and Gen Z buyers. Following the event, the Seoul Metropolitan Government reported that the season had recorded 1,772 business consultations and USD 7.54 million in order consultations, with 99 buyers from 23 countries in attendance, surpassing the prior season’s figure of USD 7.45 million and marking the event’s highest total to date.

In late February, five Seoul Fashion Week brands, including KIMHEKIM, Amomento, Besfork, Daily Mirror and Jaden Cho, staged a joint presentation at Antonioli, a boutique in Milan, running as a B2C pop-up alongside Milan Fashion Week.

Seoul Fashion Week introduced trade shows as an official programme in 2016 and has been hosted and organised by the Seoul Metropolitan Government since 2021, evolving from a runway-focused showcase into a platform connecting domestic brands with overseas buyers and media. City officials have said the event was sustained through the pandemic years by a range of initiatives introduced during that period. The September dates give the city’s fashion, retail and entertainment industries a shared stage.
