Puma releases the Speedcat Etoile collection on July 30, its latest collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Rosé, who has spent the past two years turning a motorsport-born sneaker into one of fashion’s steadiest talking points. The drop arrives via Puma.com, Puma flagship stores, and select wholesale partners, timed to a moment when bows, satin, and pointed toes keep showing up on runways and sidewalks alike.
The line features satin-inspired finishes, soft suede overlays, and ribbon laces that tie into bows around the ankle, all built onto the low-profile Speedcat frame that Puma first designed for race car drivers before turning it into a lifestyle shoe in 1999. The Speedcat Etoile retails for $110.
Puma Speedcat Etoile Design, Colourways, and Features
The Etoile collection comes in three colourways: pastel pink, neutral beige, and classic black. Puma branding is embroidered on the tongue and stamped above the Formstripe on the sides; the black pair features a matching black insole, while the pink and beige versions come with a gum brown outsole instead.
The ribbon laces are the defining feature, wrapping the ankle in a style pulled straight from ballet slippers, and they sit alongside soft suede panels that replace the sharper Formstrip branding seen on earlier Speedcat releases. Puma has described the line as a delicate spin on a silhouette that has already dominated street style twice over the last two years.
The campaign imagery centres Rosé in a scene built from objects tied to her own childhood. Puma has used this kind of personal framing with her before, and it works because her role in these campaigns has always gone beyond wearing the product for a photo. She talks about the shoes in terms of her own history and training, and the imagery follows that lead.
Rosé and Puma Speedcat Collaboration
Rosé signed with Puma in 2024. She appeared alongside Dua Lipa that same year when Puma relaunched the Speedcat silhouette, and the revival struck a nerve immediately. Lyst named it the hottest sneaker in the world that October, and Puma marked the moment with a celebration in Milan that December.
Her own signature colourway followed in the summer of 2025, a bright orange Formstrip against a pale upper. August brought the bigger move: her first full capsule with the brand, built around two shoes. The Speedcat Ballet carried pointe-inspired laces that wrapped up the ankle like a dancer’s ribbons.
The Speedcat OG Premium went heavier, with a more sculptural lacing system across the upper and a retail price of $130. Apparel filled out the collection, including an oversized track jacket, relaxed track pants, a half-zip jacket, a full-zip hoodie, and a mesh top carrying a “ROSIE” graphic on the back, a nod to her debut studio album. An extra-small duffle bag and a Micro Grip bag rounded out the accessories. The black Speedcat Ballet retailed at $110, the pink version at $90, and both sold out within days.
Why Puma's Speedcat Etoile Uses a Ballet-Inspired Design
Ballet flats have spent the last two years working their way back into everyday wardrobes, carried by bows, satin, and pastel palettes that have found a wide audience well beyond dance studios. Puma’s Speedcat already had the low profile and pointed toe shape built into its design, which gave the brand a head start on a translation that other sneaker labels have struggled to pull off convincingly.
Rosé has spoken in past campaigns about her early years of ballet training, and the pointe-inspired lacing on her Speedcat Ballet shoe last year traced directly back to how a ribbon wraps around a dancer’s foot and ankle. The Etoile collection’s ribbon laces carry that same reference forward.
Puma Speedcat Etoile Materials and Construction
The Speedcat Ballet Etoile leans further into textile than the leather-heavy uppers Puma used across last year’s capsule, giving it a softer, more slipper-like feel underfoot. The sockliner and lining are textile throughout, and the outsole stays 100% rubber, keeping the racing DNA intact even as the materials above it get gentler. An embroidered PUMA cat logo sits on the vamp, a detail carried over from the earlier Speedcat Ballet releases. The shoe closes with an elastic strap at the instep, sits on a flat heel, and comes in a regular width fit, matching the build Puma has used across the Speedcat Ballet line since its original release.
Where to Buy the Puma Speedcat Etoile
The Speedcat Etoile releases July 30 through Puma’s own site, its flagship stores, and select wholesale partners. The pastel pink and black colourways have consistently been the strongest sellers across Rosé’s previous Speedcat releases, and last year’s capsule sold out within days of going live.
