The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode published the provisional schedule for Paris Fashion Week Women’s Spring/Summer 2027 on Friday, running from 28 September to 6 October 2026. Dior confirmed its pre-fall 2027 show for Trinity College Dublin on 4 December. In India, the Fashion Design Council of India launched the nineteenth edition of India Couture Week on 23 July with an opening show in Hyderabad.
Laduma Ngxokolo founded Maxhosa Africa in Johannesburg in 2010, working the geometric language of Xhosa beadwork into knitwear. The label has held only presentation slots in Paris since February 2024. Maxhosa Africa shows on the runway for Spring/Summer 2027, one name among the 101 fashion houses on this season’s schedule, which splits into 68 runway shows and 33 presentations, down from 76 shows and 36 presentations last September.
Two designers are debuting on opening day, Tuesday 29 September: Alexandra Golovanoff, known for her cashmere knitwear, and Fidan Novruzova, whose work is defined by architectural cuts and a retro-futuristic style.
At the Palais de Tokyo, a separate showroom called Sphère runs from 30 September to 6 October, sitting outside the official calendar but feeding into it. Meruert Tolegen, a New York-based label and 2025 LVMH Prize semi-finalist, and Victoria Valette, founded in Paris in 2024, are the two newcomers this season. They show alongside J.Simone, Riz Poli, Sevali, Vautrait, and Weinsanto, the latter two also holding official presentation slots elsewhere on the calendar. Italian label Act N°1 joins too, part of a new partnership between the FHCM and the Italian Fashion Chamber.
Giambattista Valli has withdrawn from Paris this season, extending a run of cancellations that started when it pulled out of January’s couture week over what it called an internal business review. Marine Serre, Coperni, Off-White, Enfants Riches Déprimés, and Thom Browne are sitting this season out as well. Valentino and Maison Margiela are both returning after seasons away: Valentino after an exceptional detour through Rome for fall 2026, Margiela after showing in Shanghai.
Jonathan Anderson will present Dior’s pre-fall 2027 collection, more than sixty silhouettes, inside Trinity College Dublin’s Old Library on 4 December. The show is personal for Anderson: his first job in fashion was at the Brown Thomas department store in Dublin, well before Loewe or Dior.
Anderson described staging the show at Trinity College Dublin as a long-held ambition, saying the return carried personal significance because he began his fashion career in the city. Dior has chosen the Old Library as its venue while the landmark prepares for its most extensive conservation project in more than three centuries. The building and its Long Room will stay open to visitors until the end of 2027, when conservation work begins and a new Research Collections Study Centre takes shape on the redesigned ground floor. The library holds 350,000 early printed books and 20,000 manuscript and archive collections, including the Book of Kells.
Anderson was named artistic director of Dior menswear in April 2025. Six weeks later, he took over womenswear and couture too, becoming the first designer to run all three divisions since the house’s founder. His menswear debut came that June. The womenswear collection followed in October, and by January 2026, he’d shown his debut couture collection too. The pre-fall and cruise shows he’s staged for the house so far have gone to Los Angeles, Kyoto, Mumbai, and Perthshire in Scotland.
The Dublin save-the-date, posted to Instagram alongside Anderson’s now-familiar four-leaf clover and ladybird motifs, carried a line from Carmel Snow: “It’s quite a revolution, dear Christian.” Snow, the Dalkey-born editor-in-chief of the American edition of Harper’s Bazaar from 1934 to 1958, was the one who coined the phrase “New Look” after seeing Christian Dior’s original 1947 collection in Paris.
Hyderabad’s Falaknuma Palace, a nineteenth-century residence now run by Taj as a luxury hotel, hosted the opening show of India Couture Week on 23 July, the first time in the event’s nineteen-year run that it has started anywhere but Delhi. Anamika Khanna took the slot there before the schedule moved to the Taj Palace in New Delhi.
After Anamika Khanna’s opening, the schedule continued in New Delhi with Falguni Shane Peacock and Rohit Bal on 24 July. The following days featured House of Masaba, JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Roseroom by Isha Jajodia, Rimzim Dadu, Arpita Mehta, Kunal Rawal, Dolly J, and Jayanti Reddy.
Hyundai Motor India returned as title sponsor this year, with Reliance Brands and Nexxus New York continuing as partners. FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi described the roster as a mix of legacy couturiers and established names alongside two designers making their debut on the schedule.
