H&M has confirmed Lebanese haute couture house Elie Saab as its next major designer collaborator, with a 54-piece capsule of womenswear, menswear, and accessories launching globally on 22 October 2026. The collection translates Saab’s red-carpet DNA into accessible occasion dressing and everyday wear.

H&M’s Designer Collaborations: Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Versace, & More

Over the past two decades, H&M has turned its designer team-ups into a recurring fashion event. Working with a succession of high-profile luxury and fashion names, including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Versace, Alexander Wang, Rabanne, Simone Rocha, and Moschino. That lineage began in 2004, when H&M first tapped Lagerfeld, then Chanel’s creative director, for a capsule collection. The launch caused a genuine frenzy at the time. Shoppers lined up for hours before stores even opened, and the collection sold out within hours at many locations.

H&M expanded its designer relationship the following year with Stella McCartney, whose 2005 collection became another major retail success. Reports at the time described intense crowds outside some London stores. Her most recent partnership with the retailer in May 2026, a 57-piece line-up, was built around recycled and certified materials and was framed by H&M as a rethink of the collaboration itself, pairing the clothes with a new sustainability-focused “Insights Board.”

What to Expect When Elie Saab Meets H&M

Dutch-Moroccan-Egyptian model Imaan Hammam leads the campaign in a mix of daytime and evening fashion, including a leather jacket and skirt combination that shows the range extends beyond dresses into everyday pieces as well.

Elie Saab himself couldn’t single out a favourite piece from the 54-piece line; he pointed to how comprehensively the collection covers a wardrobe: a shirt, a cape, a coat, whatever the occasion calls for. One look pairs an evening dress for $269 with a $219 jacket, while accessories include earrings at $59.99 and a belt at $79.99. Several designs also carry signature monogram detailing.

The line leans hardest into evening wear: ornate gowns and fluid separates, worked with fine lace and sequins that shift tone across the fabric. CEO Elie Saab Jr. has said that Saab’s existing clientele is the collection’s first customer, not just H&M shoppers new to the house.

The collection also includes a full menswear line, extending the line-up beyond the gowns that have made Saab a red-carpet mainstay. H&M’s creative advisor and head of design for womenswear, Ann-Sofie Johansson, said she was personally drawn to the menswear, noting the team worked hard on the fit “because that is also one of the most important things with the house.” A tailored blazer and trousers, priced at $269 and $169, paired with a $99 shirt and a $59.99 bandana, are one example of how that structured tailoring carries through the men’s pieces.

Why Elie Saab-H&M Collaboration Matters

Elie Saab founded his label in Beirut in 1982 as a bridalwear business, after a period of design study in Paris, before expanding into the eveningwear that built his reputation. He later became one of the first international members of France’s Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, a formal recognition within the Paris fashion establishment that he holds alongside his Beirut roots.

His designs have since appeared on red carpets worldwide, worn over the years by figures including Kate Winslet, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, among others.

The creative tie-up comes as Saab has kept up a full couture calendar this year, showing Spring 2026 Couture in January and Fall 2026 Couture in July at Paris Couture Week. The Fall show leaned into the mythology of grand masked balls, with Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball among the references, with Old Hollywood glamour running through velvet corseted gowns, tuxedos, and capes for men.

Saab Jr said the collaboration came at the right time, as the brand expands significantly across regions and strengthens its ready-to-wear collection. The house has never done a fashion venture quite like this one, translating Saab’s couture-level designs into mass-market pieces. Johansson said the house’s journey, beginning with bridalwear in Beirut and going to the centre of Paris fashion, made a compelling story to build the collection around.

Saab Jr., who runs the house alongside his father, also said H&M’s track record translating other major fashion houses’ codes into accessible collections gave the family confidence in the partnership.

Johansson called it a landmark creative partnership, with a collection she described as magical, ornate, and glamorous. Saab, for his part, has said the pieces were designed to form a complete wardrobe speaking to every moment of a woman’s life. The selection, spread across apparel, accessories, and footwear, will be available online globally and in selected stores from 22 October.
