Vacheron Constantin has opened a free heritage exhibition at 37 Old Bond Street in London, running from 20 July to 1 August 2026, drawing on over 270 years of archives since the maison’s founding in Geneva. Titled ‘Explore All Ways Possible,’ the show traces how exploration, both geographical and technical, shaped the brand’s output from early trade voyages under François Constantin through to appearances at world fairs. The exhibition’s opening week has coincided with an unrelated but well-timed moment on screen: Tom Cruise wearing the Overseas Dual Time in the new trailer for Digger, Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s upcoming film.
Explore All Ways Possible carries beyond the exhibition into a wider campaign for the year. Vacheron has paired the theme with a new artistic collaboration, working with Chinese British illustrator Shan Jiang to carry the exploration concept across boutiques and digital platforms worldwide.
The exhibition organises itself around three threads instead of a single chronology. The geographical strand is the most literal of them.
Three of the four cardinal directions on display correspond to distinct watch typologies, mapping the maison’s commercial expansion outward from Geneva. North is represented by the rugged Overseas line, built for travel and outdoor use. East brings out Art Deco pieces carrying Far Eastern motifs, a nod to Vacheron’s early export markets. South covers watches engineered to withstand humidity and heat, built for climates a long way from the Jura mountains.
Sitting at the centre of the show is the new Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points, offered in four distinct shades and built on the manufacture’s Calibre 5110 DT/3 movement. The watch carries the essential travel complications: dual time, day and night indication, and a date function. Vacheron first unveiled the model earlier this year at Watches and Wonders in Geneva, alongside other 2026 novelties tied to the same exploration theme.
London isn’t running the show alone. A parallel version of Explore All Ways Possible has already been staged in Hong Kong, built around the same 2026 theme.
The Hong Kong presentation anchored itself around the same Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points, giving equal billing to the Overseas Self-Winding Ultra Thin. Between the two watches, the display filled out a broader picture of the Overseas collection’s range across nearly a decade of development.
Harrods, meanwhile, commissioned something considerably more singular. Vacheron created a one-of-one Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon for the department store.
The piece carries 671 diamonds and a green dial matched to Harrods’ own signature colour. Its movement, Calibre 1990, combines four patents and 57 complications. It was built for exactly one buyer, and represents the meeting point of Vacheron’s high jewellery and fine horology work in a single case.
London’s show pulls its pieces from Vacheron’s own archives. The Harrods commission was designed fresh, made specifically for the anniversary year and for that single store.
Digger’s trailer introduces Cruise as an oil tycoon racing to undo a disaster of his own making, transformed under heavy prosthetics into a character called Digger Rockwell. On his wrist throughout the trailer sits the Overseas Dual Time.
Digger’s watch is a specific Vacheron reference, not a prop stand-in. It’s the Overseas Dual Time in 18-karat 5N pink gold, paired with an intense green dial that debuted at Watches and Wonders 2024 and runs on the manufacturer’s Calibre 5110 DT/2 movement, with a case around 41mm. Retail pricing for the piece sits near £77,000. The film is directed by Iñárritu, an Academy Award winner, with a release date set for 2 October.
Cruise’s association with the brand isn’t new. He wore an Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin to the Top Gun: Maverick premiere at Cannes in 2022, pairing it with a tuxedo for the red carpet and again for more casual press appearances that same festival, where the film also received a five-minute standing ovation and Cruise accepted an honorary Palme d’Or.
Between then and Digger, his watch choices have ranged widely across several red carpets and press cycles. He’s been photographed in Rolex Daytonas on more recent press tours. He’s also worn a Graham Chronofighter Diver, a pilot’s watch that measures a substantial 47mm on his wrist, in step with several of his flying roles.
Rolex has featured across decades of Cruise’s public appearances too, including Day-Dates, Sky-Dwellers and a GMT-Master II, spanning back to his earliest years as a leading man in the 1980s, well before Vacheron entered the picture.
Entry to the Bond Street exhibition remains free through August 1. Vacheron has not announced whether Explore All Ways Possible will travel to further cities beyond London and Hong Kong once its current run ends, and the Harrods commission stays a single piece, made once and not repeated.
