Hourglass has released its Holiday 2026 Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked collection in partnership with Parisian jewellery designer Lauren Rubinski. The three core palettes, Wish, Hope, and Luck, are available for £94 online.

Each compact holds six shades of finishing powder, bronzer, blush, and highlighter built on the brand’s photoluminescent technology. Each is topped with a raised gold charm designed by Rubinski: a four-leaf clover for Wish, a heart and key for Hope, an upside-down horseshoe for Luck, and a 3D gold heart with white, gold, and red crystals for Love.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit: Wish, Hope, Luck, and Love

Wish leans warm. Its lineup includes the returning Diffused Light finishing powder, a new Moonstone Glow strobe powder in pink and champagne pearl, an Ethereal Bronze bronzer, and three blushes ranging from a muted Mauve Flush to a rosy Desert Rose.

Hope skews cooler and pinker, pairing a soft light finishing powder with brilliant pink, soft rosewood, and rose quartz blushes, a lilac-toned luminous opal strobe powder, and a sunlit bronze bronzer.

Luck is the moodiest of the four, built around plum and terracotta blushes (radiant mauve, orchid flush, and soft dahlia), a shimmering topaz glow strobe powder, a velvet bronze bronzer, and a returning eternal light finishing powder.

The final Love palette features a new vivid coral blush and a rose gold glow strobe powder in petal pink pearl and soft gold pearl mélange. Natural bronze rounds out the bronzer, and electric cool pink and soft pink mélange bring a cooler, brighter tone to the blush lineup. A  returning Dim Light finishing powder and a Rose Heat blush complete the six shades.

18 of the 24 shades across the four palettes are new additions to Hourglass Cosmetics. Each palette can also be customised online so shoppers can pair the Love cover with the Wish colour story or any combination of the four.

Collectible Charms Hourglass Makeup Palette

This isn’t Hourglass’s first time transforming a makeup compact into jewellery. In August 2025, it launched Ambient Lighting Edit: Charms exclusively at its NYC flagship and Selfridges Oxford Street, a magnetic palette sold with 48 swappable charms (zodiac symbols, gemstone initials, and lucky talismans) at £18 apiece, the palette priced at £92. The pitch was collectibility; shoppers bought the base and kept adding to it. The concept later travelled to Sydney, where Hourglass ran the Charms experience as part of a pop-up marking its Australian retail debut.

For the holiday 2025 Unlocked palettes that followed a few months later, the brand handed design duties to Ukrainian tattoo artist Sasha Unisex, whose hand-painted Deer, Swan, Fox, and Horse motifs drew on watercolour tattoo aesthetics.

Rubinski first made her name in the late 2000s with Pristine, a punk-inflected jewellery brand built around a fascination with piercings, when she was 24. She stepped away from the industry around 2017 and came back in 2020 with her eponymous label, now handcrafted in Italy, known for chains and links that stack easily and wear light, plus the oversized “love beads” that have become one of her signatures.

Kate Moss and Hailey Bieber are among the names who’ve worn her pieces. Some of the chain designs trace back to pieces she found as a child in her grandmother’s jewellery box in Cap d’Antibes. Later, she opened a boutique inside Le Bon Marché in Paris, positioned near the department store’s Tiffany’s counter, and said at the time that the location meant a great deal given how quickly the brand was growing. Hearts and clovers already recur through her collections; in past interviews, she’s described a clover pendant as one of the pieces that holds particular meaning.

Global Beauty Expansion and Fashion Partnerships

Rubinski isn’t the only outside name Hourglass has brought in this year. The brand ended its long-running exclusivity with Mecca in Australia and New Zealand in early 2026, launching its own direct-to-consumer site there on 17 February and following with a Sephora retail debut on 26 February. Around the same time, Hourglass signed on as an official makeup partner for Christopher Esber’s Spring/Summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week. Chief marketing officer Brooke Blashill said the partnership reflected the brand’s approach of building cultural impact through the experiences it creates in each region. The Rubinski collaboration fits the same pattern.

Holiday 2026 Beauty Collaborations

Lancôme’s Pink Palace is a limited-edition Holiday 2026 makeup and beauty collection inspired by a magical Parisian pink palace. French artist Octave Marsal designed the whimsical packaging and artwork. This year, Shiseido updated its Ultimune serum franchise with Japanese graphic artist Verdy, who brought his panda-rabbit character Vick into the packaging alongside the line’s usual camellia flower motif.

Launching on 1 November is a collaboration between designer Anna Sui and Japanese musician Ado on a “Blue Rose Show” holiday collection, built around a shared fondness for rose imagery in each of their respective works.
